New Memphis bike projects make a splash in DC

People for Bikes not only took note of Memphis’ latest better biking scheme, but they casually dubbed us the “most interesting bicycling turnaround story in the country.” When Memphis Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator Kyle Wagenschutz announced the idea of turning downtown’s Riverside Drive into permanent bike lanes at the National Bike Summit in Washington D.C., people took note. Creative thinking in Memphis is pushing the trend to restrict road space for human-powered traffic.
