East Memphis is known as the city’s second central business district outside of Downtown. As a commercial district, its powerhouse is the Poplar corridor. Poplar Avenue is a staple of Memphis business and retail with 7.7 million square-feet of premium office space, and retail hubs such as the Oak Court Mall, Laurelwood Shopping Center, Poplar Plaza. East Memphis offers a host of entertainment options, including restaurants, nightlife, and green spaces like the popular Audubon Park and Memphis Botanic Garden.
