Memphis school improvement efforts in spotlight as Duncan finishes back-to-school tour
During his Septmeber visit to Memphis — the final stop on his back-to-school bus tour of the south — Secretary of Education Arnie Duncan held a pep rally and town hall meeting at Cornerstone Prep, a charter school that’s part of the state-run Achievement School District. He addressed concerns around teacher effectiveness, the ASD and school improvement grants.
