Get ready to downward dog, cobra and warrior your way to a stress-free start to the weekend with Yoga for Seasonal Stress every Saturday at the Jackson Street Pier.

Join Erin Percy from Open Way Yoga as she takes you through this beginner and intermediate-friendly class in the Mylander Pavilion at the Pier.

The classes, which are free thanks to a sponsorship from Bayshore Counseling, are at 10 a.m. every Saturday through December 17.

Two dates, November 19 and December 10, will be held at Sandusky Rec’s new location at Mills School, 1918 Mills St.

Some benefits of practicing yoga include reduced stress and anxiety, increased strength and flexibility, improved posture, improved mental health, improved sleep, better body awareness and better brain functioning, Percy notes.

“Nowadays, more than ever, people are struggling–body, mind and spirit–and we want to offer people a healthy way to self-soothe and settle their bodies and minds as we move into winter,” says Percy.

Bring water, a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes for these hour-long sessions.
