Study finds Memphis one of the best cities for jobs

Memphis is one of the top cities for jobs according to a recent study by Glassdoor. Memphis received a Glassdoor Job Score of 3.4 out of score of five rendering the city No. 18 in a list of the top 50 metropolitan areas for job satisfaction and opportunity. 

Memphis has the second lowest cost of living after Detroit, which the experts determined by comparing Memphis’ median base salary of $42,000 with a median home value of $107,000.

Memphis received a job satisfaction rating of 3.2. This average is nominally lower than Raleigh, N.C., the No. 1 city with a job satisfaction rating of 3.3. Memphis has 14,776 job openings making is No. 35 on the list for hiring opportunities.  

Memphis was ranked No. 26 in terms of job satisfaction based on reviews that local employees submitted to Glassdoor. 

Memphis scored higher than Nashville which was No. 25 on the list. Nashville came in at No. 11 in hiring opportunities, No. 28 in cost of living, and No. 35 in terms of job satisfaction.
