On the tail of another sponsorship announcement, Shelby Farms has partnered with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation to further youth programming and cycling at the park.

BCBS Tennessee Health Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the Park’s Bike Recycle Program,  which gives used bicycles to underserved children in the community, and has signed on as presenting sponsor for the 2015 Bike Recycle. BCBS Tennessee Health Foundation, the non-profit arm of the healthcare provider, has also committed to purchase 100 bicycles from Oasis of Hope Bicycle Ministry to be used at summer camps throughout the park.

Partners like BlueCross BlueShield are vital to the continued growth of programs at Shelby Farms Park,” said Laura Morris, Shelby Farms Park Conservancy Executive Director. “We are thrilled to have partners whose commitment to community health complements our wellness initiatives.”

Rental bikes at Shelby Farms were purchased from Victory Bicycle Studio. Older rental bikes not sold in a seasonal sale were donated to the Binghampton Christian Academy.
